We proudly present the Road Surfaces library! From screeching skids to gentle rolling, this comprehensive audio library of high-quality recordings captures the sound of actions such as locking, peeling, skidding, and rolling. Whilst the majority of those actions were performed on dry and damp tarmac, this library also includes dry gravel, puddles, dry cobbles, dry grass, garage floor, speed bumps, and drain covers.
Recorded over a number of sessions, a skid pan car and an electric car were fitted with seventeen microphones positioned around the car’s wheels. Eight external mics also captured all the action from a distance, including the incredible Nissan Silvia donuts which were performed around our surround DPA 5100 microphone.
We recorded ambisonic surround files from the interior perspective, perfect for surround and VR applications.
Every recorder is timecode-synced for simple DAW session reconstruction, making it incredibly easy to sync every mic perspective from a chosen manoeuvre. We have included ready-made Reaper and Pro Tools sessions with the standard pack.
Delivered uncompressed in 96kHz and 24-bit, the library contains detail, nuance and offers you full creative freedom.
Metadata
To help you quickly find the sounds you are looking for, we have included extensive metadata in every file. Our file naming and metadata is created according to current UCS standards and can be read by audio management tools such as Soundminer & Basehead.
