Description
A stripped-down homologation special version of the iconic Subaru WRX STI, the Subaru Impreza Type RA was initially sold as a more stripped-out version intended to be modified, tuned and raced; or in our case, recorded. Featuring the iconic Subaru EJ-Series Turbocharged 2.0L Boxer engine, the car we recorded has been modified and tuned to push 850 horsepower, with a straight pipe exhaust producing a raucous cacophony whenever the throttle is wide open.
To capture the essence of the sonic brutality this car produces, we used high-quality microphones placed throughout the car; mounted them in the engine bay, near the exhausts and inside the intake to record every rev, turbo flutter, backfire and redline with clarity. In addition, we positioned external trackside microphones to capture the Type RA as it starts, revs, and surges past at blistering speed.
We recorded ambisonic surround files from the interior perspective, perfect for surround and VR applications. Surround sound files are not available in the Short & Sweet library.
Every recorder is timecode-synced for simple DAW session reconstruction, making it incredibly easy to sync every mic perspective from a chosen manoeuvre. We have included ready-made Reaper and Pro Tools sessions with the standard pack.
Delivered uncompressed in 96kHz and 24-bit, the library contains detail, nuance and offers you full creative freedom.
